Standing up against Systemic Racism.

“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”

Last night, in a massive show of solidarity, Jersey City came together, strong and united, to stand up with the Black community in protest of police brutality and racial injustice. While the images of Jersey City Police Officers and thousands of community members calmly kneeling in support fill me with immense pride and love for my city, I am acutely aware this is a minor part in a long path to true racial equality. One that requires each of us to play our part, use our voice and stand-up against hate. Now is the time we have to ask ourselves, how can we do more, how we can each be part of this long needed change.

Starting today, proceeds from FH sales are being diverted to local organizations supporting the black community and the fight for equality. And as we brainstorm and explore additional ways and forums to facilitate and promote meaningful conversation through our platform and in our community, we are taking the time to listen, learn and educate ourselves- so we may be better equipped to be a contributing voice in the fight for a brighter tomorrow.

While I know that personally I will never fully understand the pain and suffering that has led to this moment in our history, I can commit to using my voice and this platform to be part of the fight for a solution- today and everyday.

Finally Home has always been, and will continue to be a space dedicated to sharing the stories of our community and the voices of our members. We encourage you to share yours.

With love and hope for better days to come,

Keren
