Jersey City, what does community mean to you?

Perhaps the most significant benefit of a community is the opportunity to give back to learn from others; others that have different experiences, backgrounds and perspectives than yours. The self-fulfillment of giving more than we receive is priceless, and helping and supporting others feeds the soul in a way that nothing else can. A strong, engaged community gives us more reason to celebrate our differences while coming together as a whole.

“We believe that shared principles amongst a diverse group of people is the foundation for building an authentic community. And creating thoughtful experiences that inspire and connect can strengthen that foundation.”

Community is everything

Luckily, local community engagement is a growing trend right now. The hunger for community institutions is still very much alive but for many they are no longer the churches, synagogues, and mosques our parents generation turned to.

At Finally Home we’re thankful to be amongst the various platforms bringing people together to help create and build our community. Not just through our events, and city guide but by highlighting other places that your community can be found waiting - The local library, art galleries, restaurants and businesses are examples of where people find themselves surrounded by their people.

As individuals, we lay the foundation for a civilized society. Those spaces within our community which provide sanctuary and camaraderie serve as the glue that holds us all together.
