At Home with Annie & David Trotta of Whealth & Co

“When we focus on what makes us happy we create a life of meaning, and that begins at home.”

An inside look at the home of Annie & David Trotta of Whealth & Co and their story.

You may be familiar with the amazing, healthy food offering that Whealth & Co offers. Owner David Trotta and wife Annie Evans originally met at Jack's Coffee in the West Village over some brief and flirty exchanges years before their first date. Annie accepted a job position in Miami working for a Tech Startup and David continued on towards his goal of building Whealth & Co. It took years before they reconnected through an online dating app, leading to what Annie’s describes as “The most Epic first date in Jersey City and the rest is history…”

Now married and parents to Baby Boy Wells, they enlisted the help of friend and design maven - Irina Schneid of Scharc Studio - to create the perfect Nursery and Guest Room that reflected their fun-loving lifestyle and new parenting roles.

The Nursery

For Baby Well’s nursery David’s rustic and outdoorsy vibe joins forces with Annie’s Chic, minimalism to create a nursery that reflects their joy, love and personalities.

Scandinavian style meats whimsical beach. Boho Inspired.

Message from the designer “I treated the nursery as an extension of the home, bringing in textiles and artwork from David and Annie’s travels into the space. Black and white patterns are accented with pale blue tones and wooden textures, allowing the room to feel like an oasis of light and whimsy.”

From Annie:

“ The teepees hanging above changing station were a hand me down from my best friend from high school who used them for her son's nursery - they remind me of our carefree adventures when we were teenagers.

The grey, black & white navajo rug is a treasure found in a little shop in Portland Oregon while on an entrepreneur retreat with a group called BREAKOUT - 60 social activists, community builders and founders of amazing companies gathered for a weekend. The rug reminds me of how inspired I felt that weekend.”

A Jersey City Guest Room Oasis

Message from the Designer: “Within the guest bedroom I wanted to optimize the soft light filtering in from floor to ceiling windows. Orienting the bed parallel to the natural light maximized space for movement and rest while allowing for ample storage and soaking in the views. Contrasting soft and hard, textured and smooth, old and new, the bedroom dwells in calmness and retreat.”

From Annie

“The trunk that acts as bedside table in our guest room is a beloved piece from David's uncles (Fred & Rich) who were wildly successful estate dealors in the 80's, featured in Elle Decor for their collection.”
